The lawyer wants proof, which comes in the way of a flashback and finds Billy has been riding with some new outlaws, including Arkansas Dave Rudabaugh (Christian Slater) and Pat Garrett (William Petersen). After being captured by the law and reunited with two of the surviving Regulators (Kiefer Sutherland and Lou Diamond Phillips), Billy busts his way out of a hanging with "Doc" Scurlock and Chavez Y Chavez in tow. Emilio Estevez plays Billy the Kid, tossing off the film's most popular catchphrase (when Billy points his gun at a poor soul, he quips, "I'll make ya famous."). The Well — The story begins when an African-American kindergarten child goes missing. Sheriff Ben Kellogg promises the girl's parents Martha and Ralph that race will not become an issue in the search. Witnesses recall seeing an Anglo stranger buying the child a flower. The man turns out to be Claude Packard (Harry Morgan), the brother of the town's leading employer, Sam Packard. Convinced that the sheriff and the rest of the whites will stick together, black citizens voice their distrust, leading to a gross overreaction by irresponsible whites. Gossip blows a tiny scuffle out of proportion and a full-scale race war erupts. Then the news arrives: The little girl hasn't been kidnapped at all. She has fallen into the shaft of an abandoned well, begging the question — can the two cultures set aside their differences, real and imagined, to save the child?
