Table Talk

Meson Redux

Meson de Mesilla, the much-storied B&B on Avenida de Mesilla, has indeed re-opened. General manager and executive chef Dennis Barry says the menu will include seafood, steak and pasta dishes — everything made in-house, from scratch, natch. The enterprise is owned and operated by May Entertainment, a group of partners composed of Jim and Jodie York, who also run Telstar Networks in the city, and the owners of Action Equipment Rentals, Joseph and Courtney Muench. The restaurant will be open from 5-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 5-10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The lounge is open 4-9 p.m. Sun.-Thurs., 4-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. 525-9212.

Going to the Dogs

Want something with mustard on a bun? You're in luck. Las Cruces now boasts three, count 'em three weiner wagons in the Food Central district, including the very cool Happy Dog. Arf!

New Grub

There'll soon be a new grocery-shopping option in Mesilla. A new little grocery/deli is opening across the street from the Fountain Theatre. Stay tuned... .Andele Restaurante soon will have two new locations. Owner Andrea Schneider says she hopes to open next door in the Oñate Plaza this month, along with a new banquet space and a tortilla factory, increasing the restaurant operation's space from 2,000 square feet to about 6,000, counting the banquet facility and tortilleria. Andele's original restaurant space will be converted to catering and private party use, Schneider says. 526-9631, www.andelerestaurante.com. Las Cruces' first Buffalo Wild Wings, the TV-oriented casual dining spot being constructed at 2750 Mall Dr., may open as early as next month, according to Brian Padilla, one of the company's managing partners. The 6,000-square-foot eatery will employ close to 100 workers and boast around 50 televisions. The Minneapolis-based chain has 585 restaurants in 40 states, opening 12 company-owned eateries this year, as well as 15 franchise locations. www.buffalowildwings.com.

Chinese Kitchen has returned, opening late last month at 2801 Missouri #29 in Las Cruces. 521-3802.

The Kitchen Is Closed

Pardon us, but last month's Table Talk contained, um, an erratum. Miss Eddie's Place at 504 E. Amador Ave. is, in fact, kaput. Eddie Lacy, who worked at Tegmeyer's Salad Works on El Paseo since it opened in 1987 and bought the business in 2004, opened her new eatery earlier this year but it has bitten the dust. That's, well, no a-mor! The moon has set on Casa Luna restaurant, the sweet Italian eatery once dishing up the red gravy at 1340 E. Lohman Ave.And the Mexican place at Idaho and Missouri is gone, too — darned if we can think of the name. (Maybe that was the problem?)
