Ranger's Rage
"Rage Against The Machine" in October's Desert Exposure is another great Jeff Berg article! The story about Army Ranger Jose Trevizo is another example of the real horrors these men and women experienced and their feeling of guilt for having been used to perpetrate a stupid war that only consumed the blood and treasure of America along with many thousands of innocent people in Iraq.
We have lived through eight years of suffering in this country under absolutely the worst leadership that I can remember. In January if Obama becomes president, we will start on a road back to the recovery of America.
We have so much to do, especially to restore the reputation of this country, which was brought to the lowest point ever by an administration that stopped caring for our people and the world.

Editor's note: For the record, senior writer Jeff Berg also attempted to arrange interviews with a current Army officer and with a veteran back from a tour of duty in Iraq, both of whom support the war, but both proved unavailable.
Virtual Visitor
I want to congratulate you on your fine magazine. Living outside the area, I found Desert Exposure on the Web early this year and have enjoyed reading it ever since. Especially noteworthy is Jerry Eagan's fascinating column on Hiking Apacheria. Being a western history buff, I find that Mr. Eagan's columns bring history alive in a manner that the books do not. For western history fans like myself, these columns are a way to visualize historical events when we do not have the privilege of exploring the region in which these events happened.
Finally, I hope that many of Desert Exposure's readers will avail themselves of the online version, which is ecologically friendly.
Keep up the great work and I look forward to enjoying many, many future issues of Desert Exposure and columns by Jerry Eagan.
