In the light of the newly developed hydrogen bomb arose the megamonster lizard Godzilla from Tokyo Bay to destroy the city, amid a flurry of references to nuclear contamination, black rain, bomb shelters and the incineration of Nagasaki. "This radioactive reptile with an attitude is coming to Las Cruces and is going to settle this downtown mall controversy once and for all." In Japanese with English subtitles. Our Weakening Web: The Story of Extinction/Conservation Day—Museum exhibit opening, through Sept. 4. Encourages visitors to understand the process of extinction as a natural occurrence over millions of years.
